here's a fun brain teaser i came across today.. took me the early part of physics lecture to get it

Suppose you have 11 objects(no, you can't tell the difference between them...)and a balance. 10 of the objects are equal in weight, and the 11th is different, but you don't know if it's heavier or lighter. You can weigh only 3 comparisons with the balance. The goal is to find the 11th object that weights different than the rest. How do you do it?
